1. BALD TYRES OR LOW TREAD
Driving on bald tyres is a death wish, especially in wet weather, but it is also dangerous in dry conditions. This is why the cops will sticker your car if they catch you. Most people should be able to identify low tread that is considered bald, but if you can’t, your local tyre shops will be able to check and see.
2. OLD MANUFACTURING DATE
Tyres, like most products, have a date which you should not use them past. This is generally 10 years from the date of manufacture, so even if you drive your car once in a blue moon, your tyres will still go bad from aging. At the 5 year mark, you should visit a good tyre shop and have them inspected, just to make sure that there are no faults which only a professional can find.
3. VIBRATING AND SHAKING
People can spend thousands of dollars checking, trying to find, and replacing parts to stop a car from vibrating when it is driven. You could have a steering wheel which vibrates in your hands, or maybe the whole car shakes, with it being progressively worse as you increase your speed. But the problem is often just bad tyres, and can be solved easily by buying some new cheap tyres.
4. WEIRD SOUNDS
Strange car noises, such as whining, creaking, or squeaky sounds can be caused by tyres losing critical air pressure, or from cracks appearing in the tyres. While most people may consider these weird sounds to be annoying, they are actually a life-saving warning sign, that may save you from a dangerous blowout and potentially devastating car accident.
5. CRACKS AND TEARS
Tyre deterioration is a natural part of life for any car driver, and fortunately it is easily visible through the appearance of cracks and tears in the tyre. Extreme weather conditions contribute to a more rapid rate of deterioration, but it does happen regardless. Remember to inspect the inside side of the car tyre too, or if this is too difficult to get under your car and do, get the help of a cheap tyre shop.
6. BUBBLES AND BULGES
Tyre Shops can also help with the inspection for bubbles and bulges. You can see these easy, as they protrude very visibly from the tyre exterior, but you will need to move the car a little bit a few times, so you can inspect all of the area of the tyre that touches the road, as this is the most common place where the air bubbles and bulges appear.
